Under the authority of the Assistant to the Executive Director and reporting to the Communication Coordinator, you contribute to the definition of objectives and information and communication programs, update resources and carry out activities capable of promoting the circulation of information and fostering communications within the Regional Board and on the territory of Nunavik.

Your responsibilities will include:

Participate in the evaluation and development of general internal and external information programs;

Work on the production of promotional and information tools for the prevention and promotion team of the public health department of the NRBHSS;

Develop communication plans and prevention / promotion strategies in support of action plans established by public health;

Work closely with the prevention / promotion team to find effective solutions to mobilize the population;

Participate closely in prevention and promotion efforts on various public health issues such as parenthood, mental health in schools, suicide prevention, oral health, food safety, etc. ;

Ensure the deployment of communication strategies, monitor their success and suggest adjustments as needed;

Write press releases, briefing notes, public notices, social media content, etc. ;

Facilitate the maintenance of coherent communication between field staff and internal teams of the RSSSN (Public health / prevention and promotion) at the regional level.

Qualifications

Ø  Bachelor's degree in communication or any appropriate discipline; however a combination of experience and appropriate training will be considered;

Ø  Experience in communication and / or media and public relations;

Ø  Experience in the health and social services network, an asset;

Ø  Excellent knowledge of two of the three languages ​​in use in the region: Inuktitut, English or French;

Ø  Fluency in Inuktitut is a major asset;

Ø  Knowledge of Inuit culture and the Nunavik region will be considered an asset;

Ø  Demonstrate flexibility, autonomy and teamwork.
 

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) shall receive priority.

Conditions and benefits

Temporary, full-time position (35 hours/week) of one year with possibility of extension

Position in telework with travel to Nunavik;

Hourly salary of 25.25$ to 45.22$ based on your experience

4 weeks of vacation as of first year of employment;
