2020-051 Planning and Programming Officer, Service Program for Youths in Difficulty

Under the supervision of the Planning and Programming coordinator for programs for children, youths and families and jointly with the two health centres and the community organizations of the region, the officer shall contribute to the development and regional implantation of programs and services destined for youths and their families in accordance with the Act respecting health services and social services, the Youth Protection Act and the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He or she shall also work on the development of processes aimed at ensuring access to services and establishing priority criteria for applications.

 

Further, the officer shall participate in the design of clinical projects for the clientele consisting of children, youths and families as well as in application of the programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in humanities (social work, psychoeducation. criminology, psychology)

Minimum of three years’ experience with the clientele consisting of children, youths and families

Familiarity with the Act respecting health services and social services, the Youth Protection Act and the Youth Criminal Justice Act

Familiarity with the functioning of family-type resources (accreditation, recognition criteria etc.) shall be considered a major asset

Spoken and written skills in at least two of the three languages in use in the region: Inuktitut, English and French

Familiarity with MS Word and Excel

 

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.

Conditions and benefits

Temporary, full-time position of one year (replacement for maternity leave)

Position based in Kuujjuaq

Salary according to the rules set forth by the MSSS ($25.25/h to $45.22$/)

Northern benefits: retention premium ($6,000/year), isolation premium ($10,015/year), cost-of-living allowance ($3,085/year) and, if hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, subsidized housing provided, moving and storage expenses reimbursed, annual personal trips from Kuujjuaq to point of hiring provided, etc.

 

Note that employees of the health and social services network are eligible for northern leave without pay.
