Under the authority of the director of Administrative Services and the coordinator of human resources, the officer shall principally assume a general role in human resources. He or she shall design, analyze, evaluate and provide professional techniques in human-resources management in view of fostering optimal performance. Besides the general role, the officer shall assume responsibility for health-related human-resources issues jointly with the coordinator of human resources.
In accordance with the various legislations relevant to his or her area of competence, the officer shall advise and provide the necessary support for the employees and management personnel in the fields of pay, employment benefits, including benefits for regional disparities, and working conditions, and shall ensure the required follow-up.
The officer shall support the coordinator and the other team members in all activities related to human resources, in particular:
personnel health, safety and well-being (salary insurance, OHS, parental rights);
recruitment (postings, interviews, hiring);
Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations, human-resources management or administration
Three years’ experience in similar functions in the health and social services network
Experience in a northern region shall be considered a major asset
Spoken and written skills in at least two of the three languages in use in Nunavik (English, Inuktitut, French)
Familiarity with the usual informatics tools, including the Microsoft Office suite and Lotus Notes
Familiarity with Logibec’s Espresso Paie-GRH software shall be considered a major asset
Sound organization skills, discretion, rigour and autonomy at work
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relations
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.
