The specialist in administrative procedures shall support the director of Planning and Programming in carrying out the department’s projects and activities in view of developing, organizing, and planning health and social services in the Nunavik region. He or she shall assist the director in the administrative functions and mandates under his responsibility and shall gather, maintain, circulate and archive all of the department’s information. He or she shall also be tasked with clarifying guidelines, providing recommendations and producing management information in support of decision making.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in administration or other appropriate discipline; however, a combination of relevant training and experience may be considered
Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position
Sound knowledge of the Nunavik health and social services network and its reference frameworks
Excellent skills with the MS Office suite, SharePoint and Teams
Excellent oral and written skills in French and English; language skills in Inuktitut shall be considered a major asset
Good capacity for simplifying information and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to produce documents with high-quality content as well as texts of an administrative nature in a clear, simple language (plans, reports, policies, directives, procedures, etc.)
Ability to adapt to change and to manage priorities
Capacity for ethical, professional and respectful interactions with others
Proven professional rigour
Sound judgment and sense of responsibility
Good cooperation skills
Proven availability and flexibility in functions
Availability for regular travel
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.
Temporary, full-time position of one year with possibility of extension
Position based in Kuujjuaq
Salary according to the rules set forth by the MSSS ($24.87/h to $43.06/h)
Northern benefits: retention premium ($6,000/year), isolation premium ($10,015/year), cost-of-living allowance ($3,085/year) and, if hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, subsidized housing provided, moving and storage expenses reimbursed, annual personal trips from Kuujjuaq to point of hiring provided, etc.
Note that employees of the health and social services network are eligible for northern leave without pay.
