Under the authority of the Nunavik director of Public Health and the coordination of the project leader for the Qanuippitaa? Inuit health survey, the field-coordination officer shall be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of data-gathering activities in the field. Besides planning logistics and data gathering for health surveys in Nunavik, the officer shall coordinate and support community-engagement activities.
The officer’s responsibilities shall particularly include:
planning and organizing logistics for data gathering jointly with the community interveners;
coordinating data-gathering activities in the field;
supporting the recruitment of interviewers;
contributing to the development and provision of training for the interviewers;
supporting the interviewers and local interveners;
ensuring follow-up to data gathering.
The officer may also be required to work on other research portfolios.
Collegial-studies diploma in a relevant discipline; however, a combination of relevant training and experience may be considered
Experience in project coordination
Experience in community engagement and mobilization in a multicultural context
Experience in remote regions and awareness of logistics issues in remote regions
Capacity for mobilizing leadership, conflict resolution and work under pressure
Excellent skills in work organization
Awareness of the realities of Nunavik and Inuit culture shall be considered an asset
Excellent skills in at least two of the three languages in use in the region: Inuktitut, English and French
Flexibility, autonomy and good capacity for adaptation
Familiarity with Voxco shall be considered an asset
Familiarity with the Office 365 suite
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.
Temporary, full-time position of two years (35 hours/week) with possibility of extension
Position based on telework with regular travel to the Nunavik communities
Salary according to the rules set forth by the MSSS (hourly salary of $23.12 to $33.61 plus team leader’s premium of $29.41/week)
