Under the authority of the Public Health Surveillance and Planning Coordinator and in collaboration with the management team of the Nunavik Public Health Directorate (hereinafter referred to as the “Directorate”), the primary mandate of this position will be to participate in and coordinate the production of the next Nunavik Public Health Regional Action Plan (RAP).
More specifically, you will need to:
• Contribute to the implementation of the Regional Action Plan activities;
• Contribute to the process of updating the Regional Action Plan;
• Liaise and actively engage with internal and external management partners;
• Coordinate the development of indicators and measurement instruments to monitor public health activities;
• Contribute to management accountability (e.g., annual reports) to funders.
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, health sciences, or other appropriate discipline;
Graduate training in public health, epidemiology, or other related discipline will be considered an asset;
Minimum of 3 years experience in health planning and performance monitoring;
Experience in the North will be considered an asset;
Experience in monitoring and evaluating health projects/programs;
Experience in facilitating collaborative and decision-making processes;
Good knowledge of public health programs and policies;
Excellent oral and written communication skills in at least two of the three languages used in Nunavik (English, Inuktitut, French);
Dynamism, autonomy and sense of responsibility;
Good ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data;
Knowledge of prioritization techniques will be an asset;
Good knowledge of the Office suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.
Permanent, full-time position (35 hours/week);
Telework position with travel to Nunavik;
Salary according to the MSSS rules ($27.08/h to $47.98/h).
