Under the supervision of the Public Health Surveillance and Planning Coordinator, you will be responsible for the various health surveys conducted in Nunavik. You will coordinate the organization and execution of the survey team’s activities ensuring consistency, complementarity and effectiveness. You will work closely with staff from the three other Inuit regions and Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK), as well as the Regional Investigations Steering Committee, federal/territorial/provincial stakeholders and regional and local partners.
More specifically, you:
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of regional health surveys through its various components: questionnaire development, data collection, data analysis, communication strategy, writing and disseminating reports and other products;
• Track progress using appropriate project management tools;
• Ensure fair and effective distribution of tasks and responsibilities among team members;
• Motivate and engage the team;
• Establish and maintain partnerships with various stakeholders;
• Contribute to survey monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement activities.
College diploma (DEC) AND a minimum of 8 years of experience in project planning and control OR;
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, health sciences or a discipline deemed relevant AND a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar role;
Team and intercultural skills;
Professional Project Management Certification (PMP) or equivalent is considered a significant asset;
Knowledge of northern realities will be considered;
Experience in developing, conducting, analyzing or evaluating surveys is an asset;
Ability to speak and write in at least two of the three languages used in Nunavik (English, Inuktitut, French);
Proficient in IT tools, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Teams;
Availability for occasional travel in Nunavik.
Three-year temporary full-time position with the possibility of renewal;
Telework based position with occasional travel in Nunavik and elsewhere in Canada;
Salary according to rules established by the Department and experience.
