2020-006 Administrative Technician, Secretariat to the Department of Public Health, Infectious-Diseases Sector

Under the authority of the director of Public Health and the supervision of the coordinator of infectious diseases, the administrative technician shall ensure all secretarial and clerical-support tasks for the members of the infectious-diseases team and the environmental-health team. He or she shall also ensure occasional replacements at reception, receive telephone calls and transfer calls.

 

The technician shall also be responsible for:

 

receiving MADO reports, establishing priorities among them and forwarding them to the professionals concerned for follow-up;

entering data into the systems for infectious and chemical reportable diseases (MADOs), immunization and immunization products and ensuring appropriate filing and archiving;

integrating tuberculosis data into the management tool for tuberculosis outbreaks (OGETN) and providing assistance in training for the various users;

assisting the team members in logistics related to revision, translation and circulation of documents among the partners;

assisting the team members in logistics related to certain administrative tasks (e.g., travel);

replacing, when required, other members of the secretarial personnel of the Department of Public Health in the sector of infectious diseases (absences, leave and vacation);

taking notes during certain meetings and drafting minutes;

managing the team’s expense accounts, airfare and lodging;

carrying out any other task at the request of the coordinator.

Qualifications

Collegial-studies diploma in office automation or other appropriate discipline; however, a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered

Relevant experience of at least three years in similar functions

Excellent oral and written skills in at least two of the three languages in use in Nunavik (French, English, Inuktitut)

Excellent skills with the MS Office suite

Exceptional skills in teamwork and management of priorities

Attention to detail and dynamism

Experience in Nunavik shall be considered an asset

Good interpersonal relations and skills in communication

Good sense of organization

 

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.

Conditions and benefits

Temporary, full-time position (35 hours/week) of one year with possibility of extension

Position based in Québec City

Salary according to the rules set forth by the MSSS
