2022-102 Planning programming Officer - Tuberculosis Elimination Action Plan

Under the authority of the Infectious Diseases (ID) Coordinator and as a member of the ID team of the Nunavik Public Health Directorate, you will support the activities of the Regional Tuberculosis Elimination Action Plan.

In particular, you will contribute to the development of the Public Health Officer program in close collaboration with the Nurse Advisor responsible for this program. You will contribute to the recruitment and support of public health officers who will participate in tuberculosis control and prevention activities and other public health activities.

You will also contribute to communication activities and community engagement to prevent tuberculosis in Nunavik. You can contribute to the production of educational materials for the prevention of tuberculosis. You will also be able to contribute to the organization and implementation of population tests for tuberculosis in collaboration with the assistant clinical nurse of the immediate superior for the tuberculosis team. 

You will need to travel to Nunavik communities approximately one week per month depending on the TB population screening activities and the development of the public health worker program.


University degree in community health, however, a combination of training and experience may be considered;
Ability to speak and write in Inuktitut and English OR Inuktitut and French;
Knowledge of Nunavik issues and Inuit culture;
Demonstrate flexibility, autonomy and adaptability;
Ability to work in a multicultural environment and in a multidisciplinary team;
Tuberculosis experience would be an asset;
Ability to provide engaging leadership;
Excellent skills with the Office Suite.

Conditions and benefits

·         Temporary, full-time position (35 hours/week) of two years with the possibility of extension;
·         Position established in telework;
·         Occasional stays of one week per month in Nunavik communities;
·         Occasional travel to Quebec City and Montreal;
·         Salary according to the rules set forth by the MSSS (27,08$/h to 47,98$/h).
