Intervention Agent

STATUS : PERMANENT/TEMPORARY/PART-TIME positions (38.75 hours/week) - Rotation shifts day-night-week-end according to the village
SERVICES : Rehabilitation units/group homes
VILLAGES TO FILL : Kuujuaq, Salluit, Puvirnituq, Inukjuak, Kuujjuaraapik        
IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR : Head of Rehabilitation/Group home units
DIRECTION : Direction of Regional Rehabilitation Services
STARTING DATE : As soon as possible

FUNCTIONS :
The intervention agent ensure the safety, support and supervision of the youth clients placed within a YPA or YCJA Rehabilitation Center. Welcomes young clients and manages in time of crisis, disruptive behavior, or help in time of special needs. In addition, the intervention agent may be called upon, in terms of support to the interveners, to be present in the department when the situation requires it. Meets some of the needs of young people according to the rehabilitation goals pursued. Intervene physically when the situation requires and proceed with searches on clients when requested and also inside and outside the facility. Observes the behavior of the clients and share observations through significant reports within the continued treatment of the youth. Carries out safety rounds of the facility.

 

Qualifications

High School Diploma;
Fluency in English essential (spoken and written), knowledge of French or Inuktitut would be an asset
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Capacity to adapt to a clientele from a different cultural background
Capacity to intervene physically when the situation requires
Be sensitive, understanding and emotionally mature and display a positive attitude
Must have good interpersonal skills
Available to work day, evening, night and week-end shifts
Willing to participate in any training provided by the employer or educational institution and deemed necessary for a more effective performance of their duties or tasks
Share knowledge and skills, work in collaboration with social interveners
History working with youth is an asset
Must have a valid driver’s license

SALARY :                                                      Min. $866.45        Max.$ 968.75  for 38.75 hours

SALLUIT : 240.25$ week-Depending on family status
PUVIRNITUQ/ INUKJUAK/ KUUJJUARAAPIK : 203.66$/ week-Depending on family status

KUUJUAQ : 61.16$ / week-Depending on family status
SALLUIT : 156.74$/ week-Depending on family status
PUVIRNITUQ : 128.88/ week-Depending on family status
INUKJUAK : 109.09$/ week-Depending on family status
KUUJJUARAAPIK : 54.48$/ week-Depending on family status

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips, lodging, cargo allowance and other northern benefits.
