Youth Protection – Kuujjuaq

“Evaluation and Orientation”
STATUS: Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week)
IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR: Head of Services YP

STARTING DATE:  As soon as possible

FUNCTIONS:
Person whom, under the authority of the Director of Youth Protection and his Head of services, perform activities of analysis, conception and evaluation for the reports retain and the conception and actualization of intervention plans in order to put an end to the compromising situation of beneficiaries. The person would also have to implement measures ordered be the Court or the agreements of voluntary measures. The person will assume some psychosocial on-call duty.

Qualifications

Must be a member of l’Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec OR  l’Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec (in accordance with Law 24);

Must withhold a first terminal University Diploma in Human Sciences in: Social Services, Criminology or, Psycho-Education;

To have a practical and theoretical knowledge of Youth Protection Act and the protection concept;

To possess pertinent experience working with children;

Ability to communicate correctly in English, French and ideally in Inuktitut;

Ability to adapt to a different culture and environment;

A sense for analysis and synthesis;

Capacity of working in a context of emergency, instability and pressure;

Capacity of working in a team;

Discrete, autonomous, emphatic, diplomat, responsible, with a good sense of listening, added with initiative, strictness and proper judgment;

Respect for clientele; respect for authority;Available to travel

Conditions and benefits

SALARY:Min.: 883.75 $ /week        Max.: 1582.70 $ /week
NORTHERN PREMIUM: 191.93 $ or 338.29 $ /week, as per the family status
HIGH COST OF LIVING PREMIUM: 59.14 $ /week or as per the family status
CSN RETENTION PREMIUM: 114.99 $ /week (increasing after 2 years of services)
EVAL PREMIUM: 19.65$/ week

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her/his status.  Transit or shared lodging if necessary.
