STATUS: Permanent full-time
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of Program (Youth and Family)

STARTING DATE: As soon as possible                        

The Human Relations Officer-Designated Center performs psychosocial interventions in collaboration with different health care professionals and supports clients who have experienced sexual violence and/or struggle with healthy relationships. The Human Relations Officer-Designated Center offers individual, family and group interventions. The agent collaborates with other member of the CLSC in the planning and programming of services relations to sexual violence and healthy relationships. The agent participates in the creation and evaluation of activities related to violence prevention and the promotion of healthy relationships. The agent is in charge of training other professionals of the Ungava Coast on this topic.

Implement the services of a Designated Center on the Ungava coast
Ensure the organization and operation of the Center
Write a medical social legal intervention protocol for the UTHC
Ensuring the training of stakeholders in relation to the intervention protocol
Counselling with clients (youth and adults) dealing with various issues related to sexual violence
Clinical work in an individual, family or group context
Participate in sexual abuse prevention activities (ex: Good Touch Bad Touch, etc.)
Participate in the 24/7 psychosocial emergency services
Support stakeholders from different points of services
Perform all other related duties as requested by his immediate superior



Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Psychoeducation or Criminology
Be a member of his professional association
At least 2 years of related experience with victims of sexual violence
At least 1 year of related experience in a remote region
Fluent in English and French (spoken & written), knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset
Capacity to work within a multidisciplinary team and interest in sharing knowledge and experience with co-workers
Project organization/development experience would be a major asset
Capacity to establish a therapeutic relationship with clients
Organized, capable of taking initiative and work independently
Valid driver’s licenceAvailable to travel to other Nunavik communities

Conditions and benefits

SALARY: Min: 883.75$ Max: 1,582.70$ / 35 hours
ISOLATION PREMIUM: $191.93 /week or more according to family status
CARGO PREMIUM: 59.14$/ week, or more according to family status

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometres from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per status. Shared lodging or transit if necessary.
