STATUS : One permanent full-time position (35 hours/week)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of Programs (Social Services)

STARTING DATE: July 2019

FUNCTIONS:
The human relations officer exercises activities of conceptualization, orientation, actualization, analysis, and evaluation in one or more social programs.  He realizes psychosocial interventions with an interdisciplinary philosophy and collaborates at different levels in the programming of activities in the service to which he is assigned and to the evaluation of quality.  He participates in promotion and prevention programs.

 
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
Evaluate, orient and refer all requests for psychosocial services received from clients, healthcare and social service professionals and community partners
Long-term case follow-up
Clinical follow ups for the Supervised Apartments
Community work, raise awareness and mobilize people around social issues
Evaluate clients’ requests for residential alcohol and drug treatment programs
Liaise with the various residential alcohol and drug treatment centres, facilitating client admissions and assuring the needed follow-up pending discharge
Intervene in crisis situations outside the hospital; within the community
Participate in the 24 hour psychosocial emergency services including emergency measures as per the Youth Protection Act
Refer clients to appropriate outside resources where indicated
Take over other tasks when a team member is on leave of absence
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case discussions and various committees as required
Perform all other related duties requested by his/her immediate superior

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, criminology or sexology
Possess at least 2 years of related experience in the social service sector
Fluent in English and French (spoken & written) knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and interested in sharing knowledge and experience with co-workers
Methodical, responsible and autonomous
Available to travel

Conditions and benefits

SALARY: Min: 883.75$   Max: 1,582.70$ / 35 hours
ISOLATION PREMIUM: $191.93 /week or more according to family status
CARGO PREMIUM: 59.14$/ week, or more according to family status

 Any employee recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her/his status. Can be shared lodging if necessary.
