Human Relations Officer
SERVICE : CLSC Youth and Family - Kuujjuaq
STATUS : Permanent full-time (35hrs/week)
IMEDIATE SUPERVISOR :nHead of program, Youth and Family
STARTING DATE : As soon as possible
MANDATE :
The Human Relations Officer exercises activities of conceptualization, orientation, actualization, analysis, and evaluation with youth and teenagers (6-18) facing different psychosocial issues and their families. Realizes psychosocial interventions with an interdisciplinary philosophy and collaborates at different levels in the programming of activities in the service to which he/she is assigned and to the evaluation of quality. Participates in the organization of promotion and prevention activities.
FUNCTIONS :
Counselling for youth and teenagers facing different psychosocial issues and their families;
Clinical work in an individual, family and group context;
Short-term and medium-term case follow-ups;
Organize promotion-prevention activities following Healthy School program;
Participate in the 24/7 psychosocial emergency services, including the application of emergency measures as per the Youth Protection Act and P-38 Act;
Assess and refer clients to appropriate outside resources where indicated;
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case discussions and various committees as required;
Takes over other tasks when a team member of social services is on leave;
Support the clinical work of social assistants in his/her team;
Perform all other related duties requested by his/her immediate superior as replacement at intake, support other service, support in other communities, etc.
Must hold a Bachelor's degree degree in Social Work, Psychoeducation, criminology or sexology;
Must be a member of their professional order;
Possess at least 2 years of related clinical experience with designated clientele;
Knowledge of child and teenager development, as well as youth mental health;
Work experience in remoted area would be an asset;
Fluent in English and French (spoken & written), knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset;
Capacity to work within a multidisciplinary team and interest in sharing knowledge and experience with co-workers;
Capacity to establish a therapeutic relationship with clients of the population served;
Organized, initiative, and autonomous;
Valid driver’s licence;
Available to travel.
SALARY : Min. : 919.80$/week Max. : 1646.40$/week
RETENTION PREMIUM : 114.99$/week
ISOLATION PREMIUM : 199.67$/or more depending on family status
HIGH COST LIVING PREMIUM : 61.16$/ or more depending on family status
Any employee recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her/his status, shared lodging if necessary or transit for a temporary but undetermined period.
