DYP HUMAN RELATIONS OFFICER (YOUTH PROTECTION)

The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is a multivocational institution in Nunavik, which serves seven villages of the coast of Ungava Bay including Kuujjuaq, where is located the administrative center. The Health Center has nearly 500 full-time employees, a team of doctors, dentists and pharmacists, and manages a budget of $80 millions. 

The Health Center seeks to receive application from candidates who might be interested in applying for full-time positions that will become vacant in 2017-2018 either in Kuujjuaq or in the six other communities of the Ungava Bay.

JOB DESCRIPTION :  Person whom, under the authority of the Director of Youth Protection and his/her Head of service, perform activities of analysis, conception and evaluation for the signalements retain and the conception and actualization of intervention plans in order to put an end to the compromising situation of beneficiaries. The person would also have to implement measures ordered be the Court or the agreements of voluntary measures. The person will assume some psychosocial on-call duty.

Qualifications

Must be a member of l’Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec OR  l’Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec (in accordance with Law 24)

Must withhold a first terminal University Diploma in Human Sciences in : Social Services, Criminology, Psychology, Psycho-Education;

To have a practical and theoretical knowledge of Youth Protection Act and the protection concept;

To possess pertinent experience working with children;

Ability to communicate correctly in English, French and ideally in Inuktitut;

Ability to adapt to a different culture and environment;

A sense for analysis and synthesis;

Capacity of working in a context of emergency, instability and pressure;

Capacity of working in a team;

Discrete, autonomous, emphatic, diplomat, responsible, with a good sense of listening, added with initiative, strictness and proper judgment;

Respect for clientele; Respect for authority.

Conditions and benefits

SALARY  :             Min.: 822.15$ / 35 hours                  Max.: 1513.75 $  / 35 hours
NORTHERN PREMIUM : 181.30 $  / week, or as per the family status, or more as per the community
RETENTION PREMIUM:  114.99 $ / week 
HIGH COST OF LIVING PREMIUM : 59.14 $ / week, as per the family status, or more as per the community

Anyone recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality where he is required to perform its functions, shall be entitled to annual trips (4 times per year), moving and storage expenses, and free lodging provided as per his family situation (transit or shared lodging, temporarily, if required).
