STATUS: Permanent full time 35hours / week
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Youth Protection Director
STARTING DATE:  As soon as possible

Under the authority of the Head of Service YP, the Human Relations Agent performs conceptual activities, evaluation, and implementation of service plans within the Service. Ensure and provide social services within the legal aspects. Act as delegate to the youth as per provisions of the Law (LSJPA), act as ‘authorized person’ in the scope of the Youth Protection Law (LPJ) and the Health and Social Services Law, as needed.


Must be a member of l’Ordre professionnel des criminologues du Québec;

Must withhold a first terminal University Diploma in Human Sciences in :Criminology, Social Services or Psycho-Education;

To have a minimum of two years of experience in the application experience of the Loi sur le système de justice pénale pour les adolescents (LSJPA);

To have a practical and theoretical knowledge of Youth Protection Act and the protection concept;

Knowledgeable and ensure data entries in the software PIJ;

Capacity to perform group interventions among young offenders;

Ability to communicate correctly in English, French and ideally in Inuktitut;

Ability to adapt to a different culture and environment;

A sense for analysis and synthesis;

Capacity of working in a context of emergency, instability and pressure;

Capacity of working in a team;

Discrete, autonomous, emphatic, diplomat, responsible, with a good sense of listening, added with initiative, strictness and proper judgment, respect for clientele, respect for authority;

Hold a valid driver’s licence.

Conditions and benefits

SALARY :  Min.: $883.75       Max.: $1,582.70
NORTHERN PREMIUM:    191.93$/week or as per family status
HIGH COST LIVING PREMIUM : 59.14$ / week or as per family status


Any employee recruited in Québec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her/his status (Transit or shared house if necessary).
