Human Relations Officer - Kuujjuaq

DEPARTMENT : CLSC - Psychosocial Reception - Kuujjuaq
STATUS : Permanent full time position
IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR : Program Manager (social services component)
START DATE : As soon as possible

MANDATE :
The Human Relations Officer conducts activities of conception, consultation, actualization, analysis and evaluation in one or more social programs. He/she carries out psychosocial interventions within an interdisciplinary philosophy and collaborates in the various stages of programming the activities of the service to which he/she is assigned and in the evaluation of quality.  He/she participates in promotion and prevention activities. The agent will ensure, in particular, the fluidity and continuity of services between the medical team and social services.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS :
Offer services in continuity with the medical team, nurses and other professionals involved;
Offer punctual interventions and implement a discharge plan for clients hospitalized in the Kuujjuaq department;
Evaluate, orient and refer all requests for psychosocial services from clients, health and social services professionals, as well as community partners;
Follow-up on short-term or ad hoc cases and walk-in services;
Respond to any emergency from the hospital;
Responsible for liaising with clients passing through Kuujjuaq;
Responsible for the distribution of service requests with the support of the program managers;
Intervene in crisis situations in the department;
Assist with emergency psychosocial services 24/7, including taking emergency measures according to the Youth Protection Act;
Refer clients to external resources as required;
Attend interdisciplinary meetings, case discussions and various committees as required;
Assist in interdisciplinary meetings, case discussions and various committees as required;
Assist in the continuation of tasks when other members of the adult team are away;
Perform any other related duties as requested by your immediate supervisor;
When needed, you will be required to travel to communities of the Ungava Coast.

Qualifications

Possess an undergraduate degree (Bachelor's) in the human sciences: social work, psychology, criminology or sexology;
A minimum of 2 years experience in social work;
Fluency in English and French (spoken and written), knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset;
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and interest in sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues;
Organizational skills, initiative and autonomy;
Available to travel;
Must have a valid driver's license.

Conditions and benefits

SALARY : Min: $947.80 / week Max: $1679.30 / week
NORTHERN PREMIUM : 203.66$ per week
HIGH COST LIVING PREMIUM : $61.16/week
RETENTION PREMIUM : $114.99/week

Any employee recruited in Quebec at more than fifty (50) kilometers from the locality where he/she is called to perform his/her duties, will be entitled to annual outings and to accommodation provided according to his/her status, shared accommodation or transit accommodation if the situation requires it.
