Under the direction of the Hospital Services Coordinator, the Medical Technologist or Graduate Medical Laboratory Technician shares responsibility with the Department Head for all techniques used in one or more medical laboratory disciplines. This person participates in the development of new, specialized techniques that go beyond the scope of analyses usually or routinely required in medical laboratories.
When required, he/she oversees the initiation and systematic training, as well as quality control, of work performed by any other category of personnel assigned to him/her (including resident physicians where applicable).
She or he may participate in the day-to-day administration of the department, assisting the department head in the performance of his or her duties and replacing him or her during regular absences.
College diploma (DEC) in biomedical analysis technology from a school recognized by the competent ministry.
Member of the Professional Order of Medical Technologists of Quebec.
Three (3) years of experience as a medical technologist or laboratory technician in a sector of activity acquired within the last five (5) years in a similar or comparable environment.
Membership of a corporation or association
Membership of the Ordre professionnel des technologistes médicaux du Québec is an asset.
Management experience is an asset
Salary from $25.39 to $39.40 per hour
35 hours per week
Furnished housing and air transportation provided by the center;
Cargo allowance: between $36.64/week and $146.29/week;
Removal premium: between $203.66/week and $240.25/week;
Retention premium: between $114.99/week and $225.18/week, depending on years of service in the North.
