Under the authority of the Director of Administrative Services and under the supervision of the Coordinator of Fixed Assets, Maintenance and Replacement of Equipment, the Advisor will participate in the analysis of various capitals, renovation and maintenance projects presented by the establishments of the Nunavik health network and will establish the priorities among these projects. For the sake of rigor, it will support establishments in the development, planning, monitoring and carrying out of renovation, conservation and installation activities according to the requirements of the MSSS. He will organize all the activities related to the realization of these projects, such as the definition of the concept, the preparation of plans and specifications and calls for tenders, as well as the supervision of the work. He will coordinate the activities of professionals and entrepreneurs and ensure the administrative and financial control of projects.
The Advisor will also work with internal clients to identify project objectives.
In addition, the advisor will participate in management activities related to fixed assets and equipment of establishments in the region. He will be responsible for the management of fixed assets in the region and will ensure professional supervision of repair and maintenance work, using a client-centric approach.
Undergraduate university degree in engineering or other relevant discipline
Good overall knowledge of the construction industry and proven experience in project management
Minimum of five years of experience in these fields as well as in the health and social services network
Excellent ability to speak and write in at least two of the three languages used in the region (Inuktitut, English and French)
Mastery of the MS Office suite and Active + network
Excellent analytical and teamwork skills based on a customer-centric approach
Professional experience in the region would be an important asset
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec agreement will receive priority
Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week)
Position established in Kuujjuaq
Salary according to the rules issued by the MSSS ($28.33/h to $52.88/h)
Northern benefits: retention bonus ($6,000/year), remoteness ($10,627/year) and cost of living ($3,870/year) and, if hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, accommodation provided to low cost, moving and storage expenses reimbursed, annual personal outings from Kuujjuaq to point of employment provided, etc.
