Assistant to the Director (Nursing)

STATUS : Permanent full-time mid-manager position, based in Kuujjuaq
SUPERVISOR : Director of Nursing and Hospital Services
STARTING DATE : As soon as possible

The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is looking for an Assistant to the Director (Nursing component) to assume the following responsibilities:

Main duties:
Under the hierarchical authority of the Director of Nursing and Hospital Services, the Assistant to the Director - Nursing Component, coordinates the management of the services in his/her sector of activity. He/she participates in the structuring, organization and proper functioning of the departments under his/her responsibility.

In association with the Director and the management staff under his responsibility, he plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities of the following services: systematic client follow-up, home care, pediatric nurse pivot, CLSC dispensary of the 7 Ungava Bay communities, the care unit and the health center reception.  He supports the head of the nursing unit in the management of his services. He assumes responsibility for the management of human, financial and informational resources of his various services. He assures the emergency administrative guard, on rotation, for all the services of the Health Center in Kuujjuaq.


Member in good standing of the OIIQ;
Bachelor Degree in Nursing, complementary training in management is an asset;
Master's degree in management will be considered an asset;
Minimum of three years experience in a management position or experience relevant to the position;
Knowledge of working in a remote or Aboriginal environment is an asset;
Bilingualism essential (French and English) spoken and written; Inuktitut is an asset;
Leadership, initiative, autonomy and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and community organizations;
Availability to travel to other communities.

Conditions and benefits

Working conditions shall be those applicable to managers of the Health and Social Services Network.
Class 40 (1):   Min: 86,520$   Max: 112,746$ / year

ISOLATION PREMIUM : 203.66 $ ou 358.99 $ par semaine, selon le statut familial
HIGH LIVING COST : 61.16 $ par semaine ou plus, selon le statut familial
RETENTION PREMIUM : 269.23 $ / week

If you have a desire of a professional experience in a Nordic context, we invite you to join our team.  Anyone recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality where he is required to perform his duties, shall be entitled to three or four vacation trips per year (as per the family status), housing, moving and storage expenses.
