Manager, permanent full time position (35h/week)
SUPERVISOR:  Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director
STARTING DATE:  As soon as possible

 
FUNCTIONS: 
Under the authority of the Executive Direction, the incumbent ensures the planning, organization, implementation, control and evaluation of internal, external communication activities. Participates to the development of the internal, external communication plans; develops the policies and procedures of this sector. Contributes, by communication project management under his/her responsibility, to the actualization of the institution communication plans. Ensures and coordinates the monitoring, research, analysis and evaluation related to its domain.

 
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 Develops, in collaboration with colleagues, a communication strategy on social media in order to position the establishment and ensure a sustained presence there

Ensures the writing and posting of messages on the various social media of the organization and updates the calendar of activities

Ensures the development and updates of the UTHC website

Writes, reviews and coordinates the production of various documents, both written and electronic (news, press release, leaflet, letter, memo, etc.)

Participates in various committees to provide appropriate communication support and write communication plans as needed

Welcomes and accompanies representatives of the press in the UTHC’s facilities and sees to the smooth running of interviews, photographs and filming and obtain the necessary authorizations from the people concerned

Welcomes and supports partners during visits to departments and sees to the smooth running of these activities

Conducts activities and travels to Nunavik communities, as needed

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs the analysis of the review of the annual report and ensures the visual quality of it

Receives and analyzes media requests, follow-up with journalists and occasionally acts as official spokesperson

Plans and actively participates in management meetings in other to promote communications, exchanges and sharing of information on current projects

Provides advisory support during the production of corporate video, teaching and training

Organizes various communication campaigns (ex. Elections of members of the Board of directors, influenza vaccination campaign, deployment of ‘Agir tôt’ program, etc.)

Coordinates access to information requests (act as a resource person, acknowledges receipt, forwards requests to the directors concerned, follows-up and write responses for the official respondent)

Participates in close collaboration with the human resources team in deployment of recruitment initiatives, promotes the employer brand image to ensure the visibility of the UTHC

Performs any special mandate or other related task at the request of his immediate superior

Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in communications or any other training combined with relevant experience
Have a relevant experience of at least four (4) years in communications
Dynamic bilingual communicator (English and French or Inuktitut)
Team spirit and collaboration
Sense of responsibility and initiative
Mobilizing leadership
Judgment, discernment and tact
Ability to convey information to a diverse audience
Analysis and synthesis capability
Capability to adapt to an isolated environment, to work with an Aboriginal clientele and personnel

 

Conditions and benefits

SALARY: Class 36, conditions according to MHSS regulations
Minimum 70,185$/ year    Maximum 91,241$/year
ISOLATION PREMIUM: 10.015$ / year, or more as per family status
CARGO PREMIUM: 3,075$ / year or more as per family status
RETENTION PREMIUM: 6,000$ / year or more as per number of years of service


IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
If you are now working within the Health and Social Services network, you may be entitled to ask for a "Northern leave of absence".

If you have a desire of a professional experience in a Nordic context, we invite you to join our team.  Anyone recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality where he is required to perform his duties, shall be entitled to three or four vacation trips per year (as per the family status), housing provided free of charge, moving and storage expenses.
