Executive Direction
STATUS: Temporary full-time replacement (35 h/week) for an approximate duration of 1 year
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible


Under the Executive Direction’s authority, the person manages his/her direction’s activities in order to maintain a comfortable and secure environment for users and employees. Ensures that buildings and equipment (spread over two coasts of Hudson Bay and Ungava Bay) are in good condition in order to permit the continuity of the Health Centre’s activities. Manages an operating budget of approximately 10 million and a budget of approximately 6 million for renovation projects.  The person supervise the following:  repairs and facilities preventive maintenance (furniture and buildings), bio-medical resources, powerhouse and IT services.  The person manages projects related to capital assets and assumes management of human, material, financial resources for the services under its supervision according to the organization plan, as well as emergency measures, bio hazards and fire safety.  The person will do emergency administrator on-call on rotation.


Possess a University Degree in Engineering or Architecture

Possess a University Degree MBA or equivalent is an asset

Member of its Professional Association

Minimum relevant experience of five (5) years in management responsibility related to budget management, maintenance, repairs and construction

Bilingualism is essential; English/French, spoken and written; knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset

Proficient with various information systems and current office software (Word, Excel)

Ability to unite his/her direction’s strengths, collaborate with other services and emphasize team work as a priority

Leadership, initiative, autonomy and good communication skills are essential qualities for this position

Work experience in a remote region and native environment is an asset. The person must be culturally sensitive and respect the Inuit values of the milieu while ensuring that the personnel under his/her supervision rallies to this establishment’s philosophy


Conditions and benefits

Working conditions shall be those applicable to directors of the Health and Social services network (salary class 41).
SALARY: Minimum :  91,523$    Maximum 118,980$
PREMIUMS: Isolation; 10,627$ or 18,732$ as per the family status on the territory,
                       High-cost-of-living premium 3,191$ or as per the family status.
                       Retention :  6,000$/year

*Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement will be given priority.

*Candidates may be asked to take various tests, including a psychometric examination.
