Youth Protection – Kuujjuaq
STATUS: Temporary full time position (38.75 hours/week)
IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR: Head Service DYP
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
FUNCTIONS:
Prepares and implements activities for children that promotes their physical, cognitive, emotional and social development
Coordinate the children's daily activities
Plans programming and maintains an environment that protects the health, safety and well-being of children.
Participates to team meetings, creates and maintains good working relationships
Observes the children and adapts his educational action in order to supervise properly the group
Writes daily reports on the child's progress in the daycare environment and, at the request of the intervener in charge of the files, writes observation reports on the children in the group
Discuss with foster families the child's development and follows up on important information about the child
As needed, culinary preparation, housekeeping and various hygienic and housekeeping tasks
Holding a college diploma with a specialization in early childhood education techniques or the equivalent
In the absence of a Class 1 Educator candidate who meets all the requirements of the position, a candidate with qualifying experience may be considered as a Class 2 Educator. If a candidate is successful, the applicable salary range will be that which corresponds to the candidate's level of education.
Bilingualism essential (French-English), spoken and written; Inuktitut would be an asset
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Good ability to adapt to a different cultural environment
Completion of first aid training including anaphylactic shocks and allergy modules
Be sensitive, understanding, mature and demonstrate a positive attitude
Agree to participate in any training offered by the employer or an educational institution that is deemed necessary for more effective performance of his/her duties and functions
Share knowledge and skills, work in collaboration with social workers
Valid driver's license
SALARY Class 01: Min.$ 931.94 Max.$1,355.09 $ for 38.75 hours
RETENTION PREMIUM: $ 114.99 / week
ISOLATION PREMIUM: $203.66 / week or more, as per family status
CARGO PREMIUM: $61.16 / week or more, as per family status
Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per status, transit or shared lodging if necessary temporarily.
