The Inuulitsivik Health Center (IHC), with more than 900 employees, is part of Quebec's Health and Social Services Network in the Nunavik region. It provides front-line health and social services, including prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation and support services, to the population of the Hudson Bay Territory, which is composed of approximately 7,000 people. In addition, it provides youth protection services and management, for the Nunavik region, of Ullivik, located in Dorval. The mission of the latter is to welcome Inuit people who need to receive health services in participating Montreal hospitals. The Inuit population is spread over seven communities along the Hudson Bay coast, from Kuujjuaraapik to Salluit.
Ensures the education and rehabilitation of beneficiaries with mental health issues in an institutional environment according to intervention programs established in collaboration with the team of professionals in place, for the individual’s rehabilitation and/or their reintegration into society;
Applies treatments using appropriate equipment, if necessary;
Applies educational techniques using daily activities by organizing, coordinating and animating the activities planned in the service's program, to ensure learning and the acquisition of appropriate attitudes and behaviours;
Observes and analyses the behaviour of beneficiaries;
Participates in the assessment of their needs and capacities;
Notes their evolution by writing the appropriate documents;
Provides the programming of its activities.
Diploma of College Studies in special education or institutional re-education from a recognized school;
Fluency in French and English essential, spoken and written;
Understanding and experience with adult mental health issues;
Initiative and autonomy;
Ability to remain calm under pressure;
Ease of adaptation to another culture;
Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
Hourly rate between 23,12$/hour and 33,61$/hour
Cargo allowance Inukjuak 98.09$/week, Puvirnituq 115.64$/week
Removal allowance of 191,93$/week
Retention allowance 114,99$/week
Furnished accommodation provided
Moving and storage expenses reimbursed by the Centre
Up to 16 weeks of leave per year
Any employee recruited in Quebec more than fifty (50) kilometers from the locality where they are called upon to perform their duties, will be entitled to annual outings and accommodation provided according to their status (transit or house to share if the situation requires it).
