IMMEDATE SUPERVISOR: Head of homecare
STARTING DATE: August 2020

 
The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is implementing the Early Action Early Detection Program for Young Children. You want to come and take up a challenge and build a new service with us, it will be a stimulating and interesting challenge.


FUNCTIONS:
Evaluates the overall development of the child;

Evaluates sensorimotor, oral-motor needs, gross motor skills and fine motor skills and makes recommendations for activities and equipment;

Participate with the team in screening for developmental delays and in supporting children in collaboration with families and childcare centers;

Performs screening for developmental delays;

Analyzes the data collected and determines the intervention objectives;

Develop an intervention plan taking into account the priority needs, the child's strengths, the environment and the expectations of the parents;

Follows up on recommendations;

Works in an interdisciplinary team;

Develops written awareness and information material on child development;

Participate in the revision of intervention plans and programs in collaboration with the other members of the Early Action program team;

 

Qualifications

Must have a master's degree in occupational therapy;

Must be a member of the Professional Order of Occupational Therapists of Quebec;

Minimum of two years of clinical experience;

Knowledge of the development of children 0-7 years old and of screening and assessment tools;

Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders;

Experience in early stimulation or intervention;

French and English bilingualism required both oral and written, knowledge of Inuktitut will be an asset;

Experience in remote areas will be an asset;

Knowledge of Inuit culture and values ​​will be an asset;

Ability to work in concert with the various stakeholders in the community;

Ability to teach and provide training to local stakeholders;

Available to travel to the communities of the Ungava Coast;

Must have a valid driver's license.

Conditions and benefits

SALARY:   Min : 897.05 $   Max : 1 661.80 $ /week
ISOLATION PREMIUM:  $ 191.93 /week or more as per the family status
HIGH COST OF LIVING:  $ 59.14 /week or more as per the family status
