Reporting to the Director of Professional and Hospital Services. The Agir tôt occupational therapist assesses functional abilities, determines and implements a treatment and intervention plan, develops, restores or maintains abilities, compensates for incapacities, reduces handicap situations and adapts the environment with the aim of promoting optimal autonomy. The Agir tôt occupational therapist implements and/or participates in community actions designed to promote autonomy and community empowerment in relation to issues within his/her field of expertise.
The person must also demonstrate initiative, a great capacity for autonomy and ease in all stages of the assessment and intervention process with a clientele aged 0-6 presenting a variety of health problems. She is highly organized and adaptable, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Its missions include :
- Assessing the client's situation, planning and implementing recommendations
- Determining rehabilitation objectives in an intervention plan that meets the client's needs
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement client intervention plans in a multicultural context.
- Act as a resource person for clients, colleagues and the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in developing the community's capacity to support children's development and users' functional rehabilitation through community actions.
- Plan and organize training activities for colleagues, caregivers, families and support groups.
Qualifications
University degree in occupational therapy.
Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec
Minimum two years experience as an occupational therapist.
