Inuulitsivik Health Centre, Puvirnituq

The Inuulitsivik Health Centre, with over 950 employees, is part of the Quebec health and social services network, Nunavik region. It provides the population of the Hudson Bay Territory, approximately 7,000 people, with front-line health and social services, including prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation and support. In addition, it offers services related to youth protection as well as the management, for the Nunavik region, of Ullivik located in Dorval. The mission of Ullivik is to receive Inuit who need health services in participating Montreal hospitals. The Inuit population is spread over seven communities on the Hudson Bay coast, from Kuujjuaraapik to Salluit.

Responsible for identifying the health needs of individuals, assisting in diagnostic procedures, providing and monitoring nursing care required for health promotion, disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, and providing care as prescribed by a physician.

Experience required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a medical/long term care unit.
  • Experience as a team leader is an asset.
Essential skills and aptitudes
  • Bilingual English/French, spoken and written, is essential and knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset;
  • Ability to work in an isolated environment and in a multidisciplinary team;
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
Conditions and benefits
  • 8-9 weeks in the North per replacement;
  • Weekly salary according to the agreement (between $24.21 and $32.32 / hour); 
  • Northern Premium ;
  • Remote premium $203.66/week;
  • Premium freight $115.64/week;
  • Furnished housing provided;
  • Airfare paid by the center ;
  • Start date: as soon as possible.
