Clinician Nurse Assistant to Immediate Supervisor
CLSC Kuujjuaq
STATUS: 1 full-time position
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Head Nurse
STARTING DATE:  As soon as possible

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The person holding the position will plan, supervise and coordinate nursing activities of the CLSC in all programs such as: infantile monitoring, perinatality, vaccination, STI, school health, home care, routine care, etc. She will share with the nursing team, the “on call” emergency duty. Acts as team leader,is in charge of the supervision and orientation of new nurses. Ensures the proper functioning of the CLSC in terms of nursing care and coordinates the sharing of administrative tasks fairly within the team. Is in charge of supporting the interpreters in their work. She will act as a resource person for her colleagues in the planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care.  She will work on the design, implementation, evaluation and revision of the nursing planning of the service and its clinical assessment tools and the quality of care as well as orientation, identification of training needs and evaluation of staff performance. When required, she will exercise the usual functions of a nurse.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

 

This position is accessible to all individuals with a BAC or a DEC as long as the candidates obtain a score of 60/85 on the evaluation grid that will be completed during the interview.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Active member of O.I.I.Q;

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Nurse in an expanded role in CLSC;

Must have successfully completed training in Enlarged Role and  have experience in

      community health and isolated outpost;

Positive leadership;

Great sense of responsibility and organization;

Bilingualism French/English (spoken and written) is essential; knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset;

Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and developing good interpersonal relationship;

Experience in an Emergency Department and/or Community Health is an asset;

Provide training to designated employees Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal.

 

 

 

Conditions and benefits

SALARY (1912):   Min: 958.09$       Max: 1,805.98$ / 36.25 hours
ISOLATION PREMIUM: 199.13$ or 338.29 $ /week, according the family status
HIGH COST LIVING PREMIUM:  59.14$ / week, according the family status
RETENTION PREMIUM: 269.23$ /week
ENLARGED ROLE PREMIUM: 186.00$ /week


Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her status, transit or shared lodging if necessary.

All selected candidates will be given a test and will be interviewed, if needed
