STATUS: Permanent full time position – 37.5 hours/week
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of program – public health and hospital services
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for identifying people's health needs, contributing to diagnostic methods, providing and monitoring nursing care required for health promotion, disease prevention, teaching the school health program, treatment and rehabilitation, and providing care according to the therapeutic guide (CSTU standing order protocol). The nurse will be called upon to work with a multidisciplinary approach, and most of her/his time will be spent working with school clientele (vaccination, youth clinic, family planning, ITSS, contraception, lice, sexual health, etc.). The nurse will also support village nurses in school health matters. The nurse may also be called upon to work in various CLSC programs: family planning, vaccination, ITSS screening, perinatal care. Could share with the nursing team the on-call emergency duty.
*Holiday schedule will be determined in function of the school calendar.
• Member of the O.I.I.Q.
• Bachelor’s degree in Community Health or Nursing Sciences and minimum of 2 years of
experience in school health, or: College diploma in nursing care and minimum of 5 years of
experience in school health
• Capacity to work with the Enlarged Role
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in remote area
• Bilingualism spoken and written is essential and Inuktitut an asset
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Availability to travel on the coast
SALARY: Min: $1015.50 Max: $1799.25$ / week
ISOLATION PREMIUM: $203.66 / week, or as per the family status
HIGH COST LIVING PREMIUM: $74.17 / week or as per the family status
RETENTION PREMIUM: $391.86 / week
Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her/his status. May be asked to share a lodging unit or live in a transit temporarily.
