Clinician Nurse (Mental health program)
SECTOR: Direction of Community Services (CLSC), in Kuujjuaq
STATUS: Temporary full-time position (37.50 hours/week, dayshift)
SUPERIOR: Head of programs (psychosocial services, adults)
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The person will create and promote the development of clinical and administrative links between the Ungava Tulattavik Health Center through the CLSC and our different points of service on the Ungava Bay, and the Douglas Mental Health University Institute, the community groups and other partners in Nunavik, to promote and ensure accessibility and continuity of patient care. The nurse will do the follow up of the clientele in the communities, as well as act as the liaison for the hospital and psychosocial intake. The nurse will be in charge of the clientele follow-ups in the community, and will also act as the liaison with the hospital and psychological intake. Any other related tasks and duties as per the needs.
Must hold a Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing
Member in good standing of the O.I.I.Q.
Possess a minimum of 2 years of pertinent experience working with mental health clients
Experience working with community partners
Proven capacity to intervene during crisis situations (i.e. aggressiveness and suicidal risk)
Knowledge of legal aspects regarding psychiatric clients (court orders, preventive measures care, etc.)
Must be bilingual English and French, knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset
Must be available to travel in the six communities of Ungava Bay
Knowledge and experience with an Inuit clientele would be an asset
Certificate in addiction would be an asset
Valid driver’s licence required
SALARY: Min.: $1015.50/week Max.: $ 1799.25 /week
ISOLATION PREMIUM: $203.66 /week
HIGH COST OF LIVING: $61.16/week
RETENTION PREMIUM: $269.23 /week
Any employee recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her/his status, shared lodging if necessary or transit for a temporary but undetermined period.
