Outpost Nurse – Flying Team 1000-225

One (1) permanent full time position (36.25 hr/week).
Based in Kangiqsujjuaq
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of Programs (nursing)
STARTING DATE:  As soon as possible

Responsible for identifying the health needs of individuals, methods of diagnosis, provision and control of nursing care that requires the patient, according to the UTHC Collective Ordinance Guide. The person may be called upon to work on the various CLSC programs: infant follow-up, perinatal care, immunization, ITS, school health, home care, routine care and emergency care. The nurse will be called on to perform emergency on-call duties on rotation. She may also be required to work at the other six CLSC service points on the Ungava coast as required.


Member of the O.I.I.Q.;

Must have successfully completed training in Enlarged Role;

Work experience in emergency and obstetrics would be a major asset

Bilingualism French/English (spoken and written) is essential, and knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset;

Ability to work in an isolated environment and within a multidisciplinary team;

Flexibility and adaptabiltity;

Must be available to fly in other communities.

Conditions and benefits

SALARY: Min.:  $ 915.31     Max.:  $ 1 639.23 / week
ISOLATION PREMIUM: $ 226.39 or $ 399.10, as per the family status*
HIGH COST OF LIVING: $ 129.32 or more, as per the family status*
RETENTION PREMIUM:  $ 326.92 per week*

*Kangiqsujuaq premiums. Note that the premiums vary by villages.

 Any employee recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging in transit.
