OUTPOST NURSE (ENLARGED ROLE) OR CLINICIAN NURSE

JOB TITLE:  Outpost Nurse  or  Clinician Nurse ENLARGED ROLE 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of Programs Nursing
STARTING DATE : Immediately

The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is a multivocational institution in Nunavik, which serves seven villages of the coast of Ungava Bay including Kuujjuaq, where is located the administrative center. The Health Center has nearly 500 full-time employees, a team of doctors, dentists and pharmacists, and manages a budget of $80 millions.

The Health Center seeks to recruit candidates on the flying team for his recall list to perform the replacement of holidays of the regular staff (replacements can vary from 2 to 8 weeks, several times a year).  

We also seek to receive application from candidates who might be interested in applying on vacant positions to work in the Kuujjuaq CLSC or the 6 other points of service of the Ungava Cost.  It could be for permanent full-time position or temporary full-time replacement of 6 months and more, according to the needs of the Health Center. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION : If you are now working within the Health and Social Services Network, you are entitled to ask for a leave without pay to work in a northern establishment (ref.: article 17.05 and 17.06 FIQ Collective Agreement). 

FUNCTIONS :  Responsible to identify needs in health services, contribute to diagnosis methods, provide and control nursing care which are called for by health promotion, prevention treatment and rehabilitation. Must also provide nursing care according to a medical prescription. The person will be required to work on different CLSC programs in public health and community health.  The person ensures the emergency on-call duties, on rotation. The Nurse will be based in one village but may be asked to travel to provide her services to the six other points of services, as needed. Any other related duties.

 

Experience required

College Degree in Nursing (DEC),  Bachelor Degree in Nursing is an asset
Member of the O.I.I.Q.;
Have a minimum of two years of diversified experience such as, emergency, obstetrics, pediatrics, community health, etc. 
Experience of 2 years in remote area (Enlarged Role);
Must successfully complete the Enlarged Role training;
Bilingualism English\French (spoken and written).  Knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset;
Ability to work in remote area and within a multidisciplinary team;
Flexibility and capacity of adaptation.
Available to travel to different communities;        
 

Conditions and benefits

SALARY DETERMINED ACCORDING OF DEGREES OBTAINED:

Outpost Nurse (job title 2491):

Min: 915,31 $     Max: 1,639.23 $ / week (36.25h/week.)

 Clinician Nurse (job title 1911) :

Min: 915,31 $     Max: 1,639.23 $ / week (36.25h/week.)


ISOLATION PREMIUM: 191,93$/week or more according to the point of services
HIGH COST OF LIVING PREM.: 59.14$/week or more according to the point of services
RETENTION PREMIUM:  269.23$/week or more according to the point of services

 (For casual part-time employees on the recall list, fringe benefits are paid in addition, 17.30% of the wages payable on each pay).

(For full-time employees, possibility of 4 months of vacation per year by making work sequences of about 8 weeks followed by about 4 weeks of vacation).

 Anyone recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality where he is required to perform its functions, shall be entitled to annual trips (4 times per year), moving and storage expenses, and free lodging provided as per his family situation (transit or shared lodging, temporarily, if required).
