SERVICE: Tusaajiapik Elders Home and Day Center
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of Programs - Elders and Day Center
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
FUNCTIONS:
In collaboration with the ASI and the Program Manager; will plan, supervise and coordinate Tusaajiapik nursing activities. She will also be called upon to work on-call during off-hours on a rotating basis. Will act as a resource person to colleagues in the planning, distribution and evaluation of nursing care. Collaborate in the design, implementation, evaluation and revision of the department's nursing program, clinical and quality of care assessment tools. Accompany the physician during medical visits and ensure follow-ups. Will be the liaison for inter-facility patient transfers and family visits. Will be responsible for the reception of newcomers and ensure an orientation plan. Participate in committees and meetings as requested by his/her manager.
Active member of the O.I.I.Q.;
Minimum of two (2) years of experience with persons with a loss of physical and cognitive autonomy;
Bachelor's degree is an asset
Good knowledge of geriatrics, Alzheimer's disease and dementia;
Experience working in a day care center would be an asset;
Experience working in an intercultural environment;
Knowledge of Inuit culture and Inuktitut is an asset;
Interpersonal communication skills and problem solving skills;
Ability to maintain a high standard of ethics and confidentiality towards clients and their families;
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team;
Available for on-call
Bilingualism French and English essential;
Valid driving license required.
SALARY: Min.: $ 967.88 Max.: $ 1552.13/week
HIGH COST OF LIVING: $ 61.16/week
ISOLATION PREMIUM: $ 203.66/week
RETENTION PREMIUM: $ 269.23 /week
Any employee recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her/his status, shared lodging if necessary.
