MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE – (MILLWRIGHT)

The Inuulitsivik Health Center (IHC), with more than 900 employees, is part of Quebec's Health and Social Services Network in the Nunavik region. It provides front-line health and social services, including prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation and support services, to the population of the Hudson Bay Territory, which is composed of approximately 7,000 people. In addition, it provides youth protection services and management, for the Nunavik region, of Ullivik, located in Dorval. The mission of the latter is to welcome Inuit people who need to receive health services in participating Montreal hospitals. The Inuit population is spread over seven communities along the Hudson Bay coast, from Kuujjuaraapik to Salluit.

Under the authority of the Chief Technical Officer, the licensee must maintain operational all mechanical facilities in the buildings in accordance with the code. He repairs, adjusts and maintains machinery in addition to carrying out all maintenance work including carpentry, plumbing, locksmithing, minor electricity throughout the Hudson Bay fleet.

Functions:
Inspect, repair, lubricate, clean and turn on building appliances and equipment
Perform the preventative and corrective maintenance required for all equipment (including heating systems) 
Ensuring the smooth operation of the village fleet under his responsibility 
Read and interpret drawings and diagrams, plan working methods to determine tools and materials requirements
Perform the required welding work by excluding high-pressure welding 
Follow all safety rules and guidelines and follow lockout, infection prevention and other procedures
Make recommendations for repairs or modifications to your immediate supervisor
Maintain inventory and order materials, parts and equipment necessary for the maintenance of buildings under its responsibility 
Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plaster, paint, locksmithing, heating, ventilation or other related tasks at the request of his immediate supervisor 
Doing snow removal and transport work using heavy machinery 
Make all of the facility's moves 
Getting around the villages at the request of your supervisor 
Participates and supports the training of new employees
Any other task at the request of his superior




 

Qualifications

General knowledge in the field of building maintenance and in the field of building mechanics and machinery and tooling assembly, and having studied this area in a school recognized by the Ministry of Education, Recreation and Sport or possessing equivalent skill
Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction and/or maintenance in an institutional, industrial, governmental or municipal sector 
Having an electrician's or plumber's card, an MMF certification, an asset 
Knowledge of tools, working instruments and materials.
Knowledge of appraiser and installer
Knowledge of the operation of several mechanical and electrical equipment
Sense of organization and responsibilities, leadership, self-employment skills, manual skill and dexterity, analytical mind, good evaluator, stress tolerance, sense of priorities, positive attitude, eager to improve practical and theoretical learning.
Valid driver's license
Good understanding of spoken and written English
Expected on-the-job training
Updating knowledge 
 

Conditions and benefits

Permanent full-time position based in Salluit with travel on the coast, when requested
Hourly rate $24.76
7.75hres/dr, 38.75hres/week
Premium cargo $146.29/week
Isolation premium of $226.39/week without dependent, $399.10/week with dependent
3 or 4 annual outings depending on status
Furnished accommodation provided
Moving costs incurred by the employer
