STATUS: Temporary Full Time 1 year with possibility of extension (35 hours / week)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head of Programs CLSC (Youth and Family)
DIRECTION: Direction of Community Services

STARTING DATE: As soon as possible

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The person assesses the nutritional status of the client; determines and ensures implementation of an intervention strategy aimed at adapting nutrition to the client’s needs in view of maintaining or restoring health; develops the required nutritional program, is responsible for individual support and monitoring of clients requiring nutritional intervention. The person evaluates the overall condition of the client and determines the objectives of the intervention; determines the nutritional treatment and monitors through follow-up; participates in the development and adaptation of tools in nutrition; acts as an expert advisor and provides support to colleagues at the institution. The person designs, develops and evaluates educational programs in nutrition, tailored for individuals and communities.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Dietetics or Nutritional Sciences

Membre of Professional association « Ordre professionnel des diététistes du Québec »

Three (3) years of pertinent experience (clientele 0-100 years)

Experience with specific programs is an asset (perinatal, 0-5 year-olds, diabetes, chronic disease)

Bilingual in French and English, Knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset

Adaptability, autonomy

Ability to plan and organize activities

Ability to establish a helping relationship; interpersonal skills

Knowledge of communication strategies; ability in group facilitation

Ability to work in a team

Valid driver’s licence

Available to travel in the different communities of the Ungava Coast

Conditions and benefits

SALARY: Min.: 870.45 / week Max.: 1,507.10$ /week
NORTHERN PREMIUM: 191.93$ or 338.20$/week, as per the family status
HIGH COST OF LIVING PREMIUM: 59.14$/week or as per the family status
CSN RETENTION PREMIUM: 114.99$/week (ending in 2020)

Any employee recruited in Québec more than 50 kilometres from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her/his status, shared lodging or transit if needed.
