The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is a multivocational institution in Kuujjuaq, Nunavik, which offers pharmaceutical cares for the following services such as long-term care and short-term care (25 beds), outpatient clinic and emergency, dental clinic, center for senior citizens (10 beds) and six (6) CLSC scattered on the territory of the Ungava Bay. The establishment serves a population of 7000 inhabitants, of whom 90% are Inuits. The Health Center has nearly 500 full-time employees, a team of doctors, dentists and pharmacists.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Chief Pharmacist, the pharmacists participate in activities related to the provision of pharmaceutical cares for the community aspect of the population of Kuujjuaq, for the Hospital in Kuujjuaq and for the six clinics (CLSC) of the Ungava Bay : control of the distribution and the use of drugs, monitoring and adjustment of the anticoagulant therapy, teaching nursing staff, pharmacology committee activities. The current work team consists of three full-time pharmacists and 5 technical assistants.
WORK SCHEDULE :
Day shift (8 hrs/day) from Monday to Friday with on-call rotation evenings, nights and weekends.
Member in good standing of the l’Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec
Second Cycle Diploma, Master's Degree in Hospital Pharmacy would be an asset
Experience in pharmacy administration would be an asset
Bilingualism spoken and written (English - French)
Ability to adapt and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, sense of responsibility
Isolation premium: 191.93$/week or more as per the family status
High cost of living premium: 59.14$/ week or more as per the family status
Recruitment/retention premium: 45%
Incentive 40h/week premium: 6%
Attraction and Retention premium: between 4% and 7.4% as per the salary scale
Installation package: Possibility of $125,000.00 over 5 years*
Travel package : $6,000.00/year (i.e. two additional round-trip plane tickets)
*Current installation package of $25,000.00 for 2 years which will be increased by $25,000.00 for a total of $50,000.00 upon hiring for two years, with three additional years at $25,000.00 each (possible total of $125,000.00 over 5 years).
Anyone recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality where he is required to perform his duties, holder of a full-time position, shall be entitled to : three or four vacation trips per year (as per the family status), housing provided free of charge (shared lodging if necessary temporarily), moving and storage expenses when applicable.
