The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is a multivocational institution in Nunavik, which serves seven villages of the coast of Ungava Bay including Kuujjuaq, where is located the administrative center. The health center has nearly 500 full-time employees, a team of doctors, dentists and pharmacists.

Occasional part-time
DEPARTMENT: Direction of Nursing

FUNCTIONS: Prepare and sterilize linens, water, material and necessary equipment for the proper care of the hospital department, clinic and all other related services, when necessary. In addition, this person will have other tasks such as clerk for the department, clinic and liaison office regarding the ordering of material and supplies.

More precisely, the person will have to:

Participate in the orientation and teaching of sterilization related tasks

Respect the norms, rules, values, and mission of the organization

Ensure inventory follow up; inform the immediate supervisor when equipment is missing or damaged

Be available during the specialist's visits (dental surgery, Gynecology, E.N.T, gastroenterology, minor surgery)

Perform manual cleaning and high-level disinfection of the endoscopes

Participate in the standardization of the sterilization in the various points of service



Must have a high school diploma and an attestation of collegial study in sterilization technique

Two (2) years of pertinent experience as Sterilization Attendant, in the hospital setting

Must have the flexible endoscopy training

Training on equipment decontamination

Acquired knowledge for manipulation of sterilization machines and equipment, in respect of ACNOR norms and CPRS guidelines.

Bilingual (English, French) spoken and written

Knowledge of medical instruments an asset

Sense of responsibility, organization, autonomy and interpersonal skills

Conditions and benefits

SALARY: Min.: 732.25$/week Max.: 781.19$/week
HIGH COST OF LIVING: $59.14/week

Any employee recruited within Québec, more than 50 kilometres from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will have the plane tickets paid and lodging free of charge in a transit provided by the employer
