PSYCHOLOGIST (0-17 clientele and their family) -   Kuujjuaq

PROGRAM : Youth and family
SUPERVISOR : Head of program Youth and Family
STATUS : Temporary full time position – 6 month +
STARTING DATE : As soon as possible

FUNCTIONS :
Under the authority of the Program Manager, the person designs and carries out assessment, orientation, consultation and psychological follow-up activities adapted to the needs of children and adults. The psychologist may be called upon to collaborate with several partners. He or she may also be called upon to intervene directly in the community (home visits, group sessions in a community organization, etc.).  The psychologist is part of the 24/7 psychosocial care team.

Qualifications

Hold a post-graduate degree in psychology;
Hold a doctorate in psychology (a person who does not hold a doctorate will be considered if he or she is already recognized as a member by the Order of Psychologists);
Be an active member of the Ordre professionnel des Psychologues du Québec;
Have at least five (5) years in youth mental health;
Have experience in treatment of trauma, sexual abuse, physical abuse, etc. in children and adolescents;
Have experience in family and group intervention;
Experience in game therapy would be an asset;
Ability to create a therapeutic link with clients;
Excellent knowledge of French and English (written and spoken), knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset;
Sense of organization, adaptation, creativity, initiative and autonomy;
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team;
Must be available to travel to other communities in Ungava Bay;
Have a valid driver’s license;
Be available day, evening and night for psychosocial care;
If needed, replace psychosocial services in different communities.

Conditions and benefits

SALARY : Min.:  $991.55              Max.:  $1850.80 (35 hours)
ISOLATION : $61.16 / week
HIGH COST LIVING PREMIUM : $203.66 / week
RETENTION PREMIUM : $114.99/ week
ATTRACTION PREMIUM : 9.6%
       
Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her family status, transit or shared lodging if necessary.
