PSYCHOLOGIST for adults
HIRING LOCATION : South based position (Teleworking & travel to the North) 3/3 weeks teleworking & Kuujjuaq
PROGRAM : Community Services Direction (CLSC)
SUPERVISOR : Head of program social services (CLSC)
STATUS : Temporary full time position – (35 hours/week) with possibility of extension
STARTING DATE : As soon as possible
FUNCTIONS:
Under the authority of the Social Services Program Head of program and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the candidate :
Designs and carries out assessment, orientation, consultation and treatment activities in accordance with his/her Professional Order;
Participates in the development of intervention methods for individual or group clinical activities in mental health;
Acts as a consultant for CLSC workers and medical personnel;
Designs and carries out prevention and training activities related to mental health;
Participates in the evaluation of mental health programs;
Follows up on short, medium and long term client files;
Responds to all psychosocial emergencies;
Assists with psychosocial emergency services 24/7, including taking emergency measures according to the SSSS Act;
Attends interdisciplinary meetings, case discussions and various committees as required;
Performs any other related duties as requested by his/her immediate supervisor.
Hold a doctorate in psychology;
Be an active member of the «Ordre professionnel des Psychologues du Québec» (OPQ);
Have at least two (2) years of relevant work experience;
Have experience working with clients with sexual abuse, violence and suicide problems and sexual abuse, violence and suicide and in couple and family follow-up;
Good project design and implementation skills;
Experience working in remote areas would be a major asset;
Excellent French and English (spoken and written). Inuktitut is an asset;
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and interest in sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues;
Organizational skills, initiative and autonomy;
Available to travel to communities on the Ungava coast at the request of his/her immediate supervisor;
As needed, replacement of psychosocial services in the communities;
Possess a valid driver's license.
SALARY : Min.: $ 991.55 Max.: $ 1850.80 (35 hours)
ATTRACTION PREMIUM : 9.6%
Northern allowance rates:
Breakfast : $15.60/ day
Lunch : $21.45/ day
Dinner : $32.33/ day
* Northern allowance rates will be assigned on a daily basis when working in the northern territory.
