PSYCHOLOGIST for adults – Kuujjuaq - Direction of Community Services (CLSC)
STATUS : Permanent full time position (35 hours/week)
STARTING DATE : As soon as possible

Under the authority of the Social Services Head of program and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the candidate :

Designs and conducts evaluation, referral, counseling and treatment activities in accordance with its Professional Order;
Participates in the development of intervention resources for individual, clinical or group activities in mental health;
Acts as a consultant for CLSC interveners as well as for medical staff;
Designs and carries out prevention and training activities related to mental health;
Participates in the evaluation of mental health programs;
Does short, medium and long term follow-up;
Responds to any psychosocial emergency in the community of Kuujjuaq;
Assists psychosocial emergency services 24/7, including taking emergency measures according to the SSSS Act;
Attend interdisciplinary meetings, case discussions and various committees, as needed;
If needed, replace psychosocial services in different communities;
Performs other related tasks at the request of his immediate superior.


Hold a doctorate in psychology;
To be an active member of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec
Have relevant work experience of at least two (2) years;
Possess experience working with clients victim of sexual abuse, violence and suicide and in couple and family counselling;
Good ability to design and implement projects;
Work experience in remote areas would be a major asset;
Excellent command of French and English (spoken and written). Inuktitut is an asset;
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and interest in sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues;
Organizational sense, initiative and autonomy;
Available to travel to Ungava Coast communities at the request of his immediate superior;
Hold a valid driver's license.

Conditions and benefits

SALARY : Min.: $ 991.55  Max.:  $ 1850.80 (35 hours)
ISOLATION PREMIUM : $ 203.66 / week
HIGH COST OF LIVING : $ 61.16 / week
REÉTENTION PREMIUM : $ 114.99 / week 

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her family status, shared lodging if necessary.
