Youth Protection - Kuujjuaq
STATUS: Temporary full-time position for a period of one year (35 h/week)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Youth Protection
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible

In the general organization, the person assists the youth protection service with administrative tasks and
will also be the resource person for other administrative tasks

Performs various tasks to ensure the follow-up of the files, and answer questions within her/his  competence;

Performs various clerical tasks and complex activities related to data collecting and processing;

Translates and correct various documents;

Support the foster family service administratively and pay the foster families accordingly;

Looks after the transits and plane tickets reservations for the visitors and employees;

Performs various related tasks.



Fluent in French and English, written and spoken;  knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset;

Must have a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in General Administration or Clerical Technician or other appropriate college discipline from a school recognized by the appropriate department.  In the absence of a candidate with a DEC, a candidate with a Secondary 5 diploma or an attestation of collegial studies in a related field (min 800hrs) may be considered as a Class 1 Administrative Officer. The applicable salary range will be that which corresponds to the candidate's level of education.

Knowledge of computer softwares, such as word processing (Word) spreadsheets (Excel) and e-mail (Lotus) ;

Knowledge of the standards and regulations of management of the records would be a major asset;

Knowledge of Youth Criminal Justice Act (LSJPA) would be an asset.


Conditions and benefits

SALARY: Min.: $ 822.50 Max.:  $ 1109.15 / 35 hours
NORTHERN  PREMIUM: $ 203.66/ week or as per family status
FOOD CARGO PREMIUM : $ 61.16 / week or as per the family status
RETENTION PREMIUM: $ 114.99 / week

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per status. Shared lodging if necessary.
