Administration Technician-Executive Direction

In support to the Executive Direction, the person is responsible for the administrative operations of the Direction by performing work related to the organization of work and the planning and execution of complex tasks of an administrative nature. (S)he is also responsible for office and secretarial work.

Under the authority of the Executive Director, the employee will:

  1. Assist the director and the managers in their administrative duties.
  2. Write and/or collaborate in the writing of administrative documents, such as policies and procedures.
  3. Collect, analyze and prepare the data and information necessary for the realization of mandates of the Executive Direction.
  4. Perform secretarial and office work:
    • Organization of meetings (room reservation, audiovisual material, writing and distribution of meeting agendas and minutes, flights reservation, hotels reservation, interpreter reservation)
    • Maintenance of office supplies for the Direction
    • Management of the correspondence (mail)
  5. Perform data entry and generate reports required by the Direction.
  6. Translate documents English/Inuktitut, particularly of all those to be presented to the Board of Directors.
  7. Do travelling arrangements for personnel under the Executive Direction for out-of-region travels (training or other)
  8. Broadcast messages on community radio from general management

Qualifications

  •  college diploma (DEC) in general administration, accounting and management techniques, office automation techniques or in another appropriate college discipline from a school recognized by the competent ministry or a college diploma (DEC) ) combined with a relevant undergraduate university certificate or a relevant Attestation of Collegial Studies (AEC) of eight hundred hours or more combined with experience relevant to the field in question
 or
  • Marie-Victorin diploma in administration or College diploma with specialization in administrative techniques

Experience required
  • Minimum of three (3) years in administrative technique
  • Experience in the health sector considered an asset
Essential skills and aptitudes
  • Excellent knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Suite Office 365)
  • English written and spoken is essential; French and Inuktitut are considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the Inuktitut keyboard an asset 
  • Excellent capacity to work autonomously with a developed sense of initiative
  • Capacity to work in a multicultural team
  • Capacity to manage multiple requests in a demanding environment
  • Capacity to prioritize and organize work
  • Positive and mobilizing attitude
  • Respect of the inuit culture and traditions
Conditions and benefits
  • full time based in Puvirnituq;
  • Shift : Day (35hours/week)
  • Salary between 24.21$/h and 32.32$/h
  • Cargo premium: 115.64$/week; 
  • Remoteness premium: between 203.66$ without dependant and 358.99$/week with dependant; 
  • Retention premium: $114.99/week;
  • Furnished housing provided;
  • 3 to 4 outings per year depending on family status;  
  • Air transportation paid by the center.
