EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY (4000-015)  X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST - KUUJJUAQ

 

The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is a multivocational institution in Nunavik, which serves seven villages of the coast of Ungava Bay including Kuujjuaq, where is located the administrative center. The Health Center has nearly 500 full-time employees, a team of doctors, dentists and pharmacists, and manages a budget of $80 millions.

 

 

The Health Center seeks to receive application for different types of assignments that are available immediately or will become available in the coming months :

 

Temporary replacement (35 hours/week) for a duration of 3 to 12 months

Recall list to perform vacation replacements of regular staff (1 month at a time)

Possibility in the future to obtain a permanent full-time position

FUNCTIONS:

Person who, under the authority of the Hospital Services Director, performs various laboratory analyses for the purpose of helping to achieve a medical diagnosis.  Performs microbiological analysis, the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment; orders the required equipment and products, and prepares government statistics reports.  Participate to the training and orientation of the new personnel.  Participates to the training and supervision of Medical Technology students, if needed.  Ensures emergency on-call duty, on a rotation basis.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

 

College diploma (DEC) in Technologie d’analyses biomédicales

Active member of the O.P.T.M.Q.

Three (3) years of experience in as Medical Technologist

Versatility in different fields such as microbiology, hematology, blood bank and biochemistry

Knowledge of molecular biology would be an asset

Fully bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)

Initiative and autonomy

Ability to work within a team

SALARY:                                           Min.: $ 785.75  Max.:  $1 152.55 / 35 hours

ISOLATION PREMIUM:                   $ 188.18 / week or more, as per the family status

HIGH COST OF LIVING:                   $   59.14 / week or more, as per the family status

RETENTION PREMIUM:                  Starting at $ 114.99 / week
